HeraldNet.com - Local news: Sauk-Suiattle tribal offices in Darrington closed for clean-up after MRSA report.
Sauk-Suiattle tribal offices will be closed for a week following reports that an employee might have been infected with MRSA bacteria. The bacteria with the tongue-twisting name of methicillin-resistant staphylococcus aureus are resistant to common antibiotics, including penicillin. The infections often occur around skin scrapes and cuts. A cleaning company was hired on Tuesday to begin sanitizing all tribal offices, said Stephen O'Leary, chief of the Sauk-Suiattle Tribal Police Department.
