An East Texas school district says it is battling staph infections and MRSA like they have never seen before. Van ISD says 12 high school students, most of them varsity football players, have been infected, several with the super bug that can be deadly. Parents, medical and school officials say they are doing all the can to keep it under control. "Staph has been a part of athletic programs forever," said David Goff, Director of Operations at Van ISD. "But, the new phenomenon is that we're dealing with this MRSA and it's so dangerous and can be deadly."
