AS PART of the ongoing fight to stamp out healthcare acquired infections (HCAIs), a study has shown that Ultramicrofibre (UMF) cloths are significantly more effective than J Cloths in removing harmful bacteria from hospital surfaces. The research was carried out by University College Hospital’s department of microbiology in a bid to come up with an alternative to classic cloth-based cleaning, which requires disinfectants known to be harmful to health and which can degrade the built environment.
