I am unable to find anything on the rate of infections in my local hospitals in San Antonio, TX using Google. Any other suggestions?

I have recently visited my local GP and noticed that there are leaflets on a product called Hibiscrub in the waiting room indicating how washing the body prior to going into hospital can help reduce the chance of getting an infection.
I think that there is more information on www.hibihealth.com

My granddaughter has MRSA and is in the Neo-Natal at Community Hospital in Munster IN. I am the legal gardian of her, and am very concerned, because I have two teenage children at home, and am so afraid of them contracting the disease. I truley dont know what to do. Am I being silly, is there any reason I shouldnt be afraid. The Drs say she will be ok and I am having a very hard time finding this to be true. I NEED HELP AND I NEED ANSWERS, AND THE DRS JUST DONT SEEM TO BE CONCERNED AS I AM.

THIS IS SOON TO BE A WORLD WIDE PANDEMIC. THEY WORRY ABOUT WARS? WE THE PEOPLE OF THE UNITED STATES ARE IN ONE, BUT OFFICIALS DON'T WANT TO TALK ABOUT IT. WRITE TO GLEN BECK, BILL O'RILEY,ANY TV COMMENTATOR YOU CAN TO BRING THIS TO THE FOREFRONT OF THE AMERICAN PEOPLE. IT CAN NOT BE STOPPED RIGHT NOW AND BEFORE TWO YEARS HAS PASSED MANY WILL DIE! MONEY IS THE OBJECT! ONLY THE RICH WILL SURVIVE AFTER THEY USE THE POOR TO TEST ON...NO HEALTH INSURANCE IS A WAY FOR THE RICH TO HAVE BODY'S TO TEST ON

My 8 year old daughter recently got what I thought was a spider bite on her upper thigh, we first noticed it when she came home off the school bus Friday, it drained that same day, but got worse so Monday we saw the doctor she gave her cephalexin to take 4 times a day(impossible for me working as a single mom), by Wed she still had a high fever and headache, so went to the Dr. and made them take a culture, we just found out 1 1/2 weeks later it is MRSA, is this something she will always carry? Also, when she was born because of problems they told me she would be likely to have problems with allergies, illness, asthma etc., she has always had a problem with yeast infections and discharge could this be why? Just yesterday my mom broke out with what she thinks is Hives but they haven;t gone away, and last night I broke out also have a fever body aches, could this be from us getting it? My doctor is not concerned at all they even told me my daughter could go to school. Is this right?

I have a boil that keeps recurring under my arm. Stress seems to bring it on. I am assuming that it is MRSA. About half of the people I know have a similar type of skin infection. The common areas if affects are under the arm, in the nose, back of the neck and groin area. I live in the East Bay Area and this is really getting out of hand here. Last night I heard about 6 more area residents who now have some form of it. One of our friends died from it a few weeks ago. Could this be a biological weapon that is sweeping the country?

Hi Julie,
Sorry to hear about your problem.
Is there a website based here in USA for MRSA?
I'm a member here but can't remember what my password is.
Any one have a suggestion?

Thanks

It has been literally months since my last MRSA outbreak!! Almost a year.
The things that I have done to change my lifestyle has obviously helped!! As soon as I finished detoxing from my ANTI-DEPRESSANT......... I found MRSA no longer to be a problem. I had scratched & scratched while on my anti-depressant. I no longer have that problem, either. (which is probably why the MRSA spread to begin with)
I have completely changed the way I look at medicine. I no longer take just any pill a doctor prescribes. Instead, I look at alternative medicine. And I feel at least 500% better than I did when I was taking all those prescriptions!
Don't misunderstand me: I do believe in doctors: at least I would again take an anti-biotic if I needed to or have surgery if needed. But I wouldn't again go back on those hundreds of pills I was taking just 3 short years ago.
When I am prescribed a medication: I now weight the pros & cons of taking it! Unfortunately, this makes doctors upset because I no longer "just do what they tell me to": I question every little thing. But I HAVE A RIGHT TO DO SO!! After all, it's my body!!!!!

What I would find very interesting to find out is how many persons are taking an anti-depressant also have MRSA? How many other persons, who have been "medicated to death" also have MRSA?
I don't know if anyone is actually researching the LINK that MAY BE between MRSA and taking certain kinds of other medications?
More than likely, NOT! As stopping medications isn't PROFITABLE!!!! Though, it may be EXACTLY what research needs to be done!!

Just wanted to share that there is an excellent US site, mrsanotes.com for those in the US seeking resources - don't bother with the "government" sites - little or no help.
